NB’s War Paint (Smudge), female, 3 years old eating raw chicken and turkey grind.
NB’s Under the Radar (Banshee), female, 3 years old eating a whole mouse.
Mudflap, male, about 7 years old eating chicken pieces.
Their mum says: “Smudge and Banshee were purchased from a private breeder in Pennsylvania who raises her kits on a natural diet. Because of this, there was no transition when I brought them home, and of course, the differences between a well-raised ferret and a typical mill-born ferret are immeasurable – partly because of their diet. Smudge is eating a raw chicken and turkey grind which I get from a local farm. The grind includes organ, bone, and muscle meat.
Banshee is excited to eat her weekly whole mouse. Each ferret gets a mouse a week as a healthy, perfect prey package and they love them!
My boys, Tank and Mudflap, are rescues. Tank is about 6, and Mudflap is about 7. Both were transitioned to a raw diet when they were rescued, having both been fed low-quality cat foods like Meow Mix their entire lives. Their health and temperments have greatly improved since they have begun on their raw path. Mudflap is eating chicken pieces. I was unable to snap a reasonable photo of Tank!
If you are a raw feeder I would love it if you would send me a photo of your ferret eating raw meaty bones to add to the gallery and help me reach my target of 1,000 raw fed ferrets eating raw meaty bones captured on camera! Click here for how to send me your photo.
